"A Hole New World Emerges Behind Them"

Our current exhibition “WINDOWS” by Natalia Sanchez Valdemoros explores the life of those living behind these distinctive windows.

The Argentinean artist, who has always had a passion for cities, their noises, their people, their homes, and their buildings, has been impressing locals with the mastery of her technique. Using oil on canvas, the artist creates incredible facades containing several layers. These layers let you see how the external walls of buildings have been worn out over the years. Exposed bricks, paint peeling off and water pipes leaking are few indicators of how fast time passes.

In her solo exhibition “Windows”, people will appreciate how the artist reflects on the “proximity and distance and, at the same time, on people, human relationships and their contradictions. The idea is to show that even though windows are close to each other, people are disconnected. Each person lives in a different world, despite being near one another…”

Another element that make these artworks stand out, is the details incorporated in the windows. Blinds, flowerpots, curtains, garlands, flags, and bars are all perfectly to decorate them, showing each owners´ personal eclectic taste and lifestyle. Classic, industrial and modern buildings come together to create this wonderful exhibition.

Conceptually, the artist reflects on the “proximity and distance and, at the same time, on people, human relationships and their contradictions. The idea is to show that even though windows are close to each other, people are disconnected. Each person lives in a different world, despite being near one another…”

A single meaning cannot be appointed to her works, nor a specific concept. Her work is urban and very open. The artist “allows the spectators to create their own message and their own story”.

A must for art lovers.
