René Martín was born in 1952 in La Habana Cuba, since 1996 is living in Mèxico.
He studied architecture and graphic design, in 1979 he starts his studies in The Fine Arts School of San Alejandro in La Habana, Cuba. In 1985 presents his first one man show, and since then he has made more than 60 exhibitions between individuals and groups between Cuba, Mèxico, United States and Costa Rica.
Since the beginning of his work it catalogues as landscape, later as surrealism or tropical surrealism, the main theme in his work are the tropical landscapes where some elements are included such as eggs at derives, fruits, ladders, umbrellas that hang from the clouds, forks that transform in palm trees, jungles that float on the clouds, etc.
With this themes Renè Martìn tries to promote the conservation of nature aswell as the environment with a great sense of humor, using the metaphor and the symbology.
The skill that he uses is oil or acrylic on canvas, with bright colors, tropical, and with whom the themes makes the spectator interact with the paintings, giving each its own interpretation
